Woody Theory 2: The Hall of Evidence

In Chapter 4, Gerson recites a play called "Lord of the Hammer," which seems to be a parralell to Deltarune's story, each chapter corresponding to one in Deltarune. In the play, Chapter 5 is:

There is also this slide from the prophecy in Chapter 4:

Therefore, we can assume that the most likley place that Chapter 5 will take place is in Asgore's flower shop. Now, in the cut board 3, one of the quiz questions Tenna asks about is:

Followed up by:

Sound familiar? Also, near the beginning of chapter 3, Tenna talks about "Floral Cowboy Curtains"

Additionally, there's this Shuttah Dialauge.

And remember what the original Friend Inside Me was in? Anyways, let's talk about what might be considered the 'killing blow' to Woody Theory: the Mike fight. In the fight, Friend Inside Me is referenced through the third Mike. Not only does he wear a cowboy hat, but he also says he has "Friends on the inside." So, that's it, right? At this point, it's just Toby poking fun at the theory... right? Well, let's consider for a moment: why did Toby choose this theory, specifically? after all, there were countless Mike theories pre-chapters 3+4. So, why these 3? Well, let's take a look at the other two chosen. Microphone Mike is a reference to the popular fan Mike design from around 2023. The big red tie, the suit, the smile, even the microphone in his hand, it's all pretty much identical save for having a microphone head instead of a TV head. Now, the idea that Mike (or, later, Tenna) would have a TV head was popular, but also criticized by many. And yet, Tenna did pan out to have a TV head and suit. The second Mike is a reference to the FriendCat theory, which is also true to some extent. Not only does the Amalgamate-Friend invoke cats instead of dogs, but one of the slides from the prophecy seems to make reference to a cat tail. So far, it seems Toby only chose theories about Mike's identity that had some level of thruth. Now... what about the third Mike? The cowboy? Perhaps this fight isn't just making fun of Woody theory, but is instead for shadowing the upcoming chapters?

Here's an image by Reddit user U/yBlookynho that illustrates this point more succinctly. Now, the game itself isn't the only place where we can find Friend Inside Me. Soon after the chapters released, Toby Fox created a YouTube account to post pretty much every song from the UR/DR soundtracks. Now, he also created a playlist, called "Deltarune remixes/covers." In this playlist, what did people find, but a lyric video for "You've got a friend in me."

Soon after people noticed this, the playlist was deleted. Now, recently, people discovered that certain tracks in the DR OST turned into Friend Inside Me when put into the Spotify to MP3 converter "SpotiDown." However, this later was proven to be an extremly strange glitch on Spotidown's part.

Ok, here's a small addendum that I made today (8/14/25). There are a lot of signs that point to the idea that Chapter five is goin to have some elements relating to Superheroes. This can be inferred from the fact that Asgore seems to be very interested in comics, and has some sitting on top of the TV in his shop. Now, Chapter 5 having superheroes would conflict with the Western theme, right? Well, not necessarily. Think about it. In Toy Story, Woody and Buzz are obviousley friends. That's, like, the whole conceit of the series. Now, Buzz is a spaceman. But, in Toy Story 1, there's an ad for the Buzz Lightyear action figure, in which Buzz is refered to as "the world's greatest superhero." Not to mention, both cowboys and superheroes fight crime. Coincidence? I THINK- so. It is actually probably just a coincidence. But, it might mean something! We can only know when the chapter comes out.
